Northwest Wales

love going to this wonderful part of the country- the landscape alone with its chunky slate mountains, the beautiful Menai Straits separating Wales from Anglesey and both the wonderful gardens and castles.

My favourites are Bodnant Gardens, a fascinating plantsmans garden up in the hills, and of course the graceful gardens overlooking the Menai Straits where Whistler's biggest picture hangs.

It would be fun to visit Penrhyn Castle, the family home of a friend from my early school days, maybe the famous Conway Castle and also Canarvon Castle.

Snowdonia dominates the skyline and is easily assessable by a funny old fashioned railway- its great fun and if the clouds are high the view is amazing.

We can stay in a lovely private country house or in a splendid Country House hotel, it having some intriguing gardens.
